It’s happening. I feel myself turning into a busy and dare I say, overly cranky mom. We’re a very busy family and while I try to leave time to do fun things, I feel as though it never pans out the way I envisioned it in my head earlier in the day. I want my kids to be happy and have a fun life so I’m on a mission to be that FUN mom. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I’ll never be a perfect Pinterest mom, but hey, I can try to get really super duper close, right?
One time I know I will have dedicated time with my two youngest is bath time. Unfortunately, my oldest is 12 and well, she doesn’t need help in the shower so I’ll find different ways for us to spend together. Maybe a movie or something.
So out with the old boring bath time and in with some activities to make it a fun 1/2 hour before bed!
4 Tips To Make Bath Time Fun
1. Watercolor Painting
I know, I’ve already thrown a big one in the mix but stay with me, I promise it gets better. This one is definitely on my “oh my gosh, am I really letting them do this?!” list. But it’s so fun for them and me, I can sit back, listen to their laughs and let the mess be. At the end of it, they are in the bath to get clean anyway so let’s get as messy as can be, then soap up and the mess is gone!
2. Floaty Toys
What child doesn’t love a good floaty toy? The only problem is those squirting toys grow mold despite your best cleaning habits. Well, when I took away the toys my kids got bored so I found a solution and it’s really simple. Just add a dab of hot glue to the bottom of the toys. Sure, they can’t squirt water everywhere anymore but the toys won’t fill with mold, they still float, and they are still fun!
3. Favorite Characters
Bring in their favorite characters like Star Wars™ and Disney Frozen and they won’t even realize what’s happening. The Force can be used to get them clean in time to save the galaxy! My three kids have gained a love for Star Wars™ from their daddy and believe me, it’s strong in this house. We love the fresh “Hyperspace” apple scent of Suave Kids® Disney Star Wars™ 3-in- 1 Shampoo + Conditioner + Body Wash with Kylo Ren on the front. Dermatologist tested and perfect for everyday use. The easy to use pump bottle worked wonders when trying to bathe both kids. A long day at school and/or playing outside really makes a kid smell… amazing but with one simple step, we achieve soft and smooth skin, clean hair and best of all tear-free! Suave® products offer quality beauty and grooming solutions for the entire family to help you look good, smell good, and feel good every day. If your kids aren’t really Star Wars fans (I’m silently judging you) go for the Suave Kids Disney Frozen Collection. Anna and Elsa get the job done and no one will get frozen to ice in the process with their head-to-toe gentle products. Each new collection is Mom-approved and kid-approved.
4. ABC Sponges
Learning doesn’t have to stop just because it’s time to get clean. Your kids won’t even know they are learning when you give them these huge sponge letters. I grabbed a couple packs at the dollar store then cut each letter out with scissors and then a utility knife for the tight spaces. Super easy and the kids love that they stick to the walls.
4 simple tricks we’ve been doing and yes, bath time has been a lot more fun for the kids and I hope they remember these times. Simple but fun. A ritual where we reflect and wash off our day and sometimes these things really do make the best memories, don’t you think? What are some ways YOU make bath time fun with your kids?
