I always tell my kids the way we start our morning is the same way we’ll end the day. We prep what the following day has for us the night before so by the time the alarm goes off we can get in our routine and get out the door happy. My girls put their clothes out on their dressers, make sure their agendas are signed, all homework is done and then their backpacks go by the front door with their shoes.
I started this when my 1st daughter was younger because she would take forever to pick out what outfit she wanted. Let me remind you that her school has always had uniforms so it’s a choice on what color polo and bottoms she wants or what color dress. Really not that complicated… or so I thought. Once my second daughter was old enough for school, prepping for the day the night before became a life saver. Now with 3 kids?! I might be a little crazier but our mornings are (mostly) smooth sailing.
Another thing that gets our days off to the right start is gathering around the table for breakfast. I make sure that when I shop at Publix I stock up on their Big G cereals deals so cereal is in abundance in these parts. There’s always some sale Publix has on our favorites, like this week, Cheerios are BOGO!
Right now at Publix grocery stores, you can find all you favorite General Mills Cereals:
- Honey Nut Cheerios
- Multi-Grain Cheerios
- Cocoa Puffs
- Cookie Crisp
- Golden Grahams
- Cinnamon Toast Crunch
- Lucky Charms
- Reese’s Puffs
- Tiny Toast
My days are hectic enough and as soon as the girls go off to school I don’t stop until it’s time to pick them up. So mornings are definitely my chill time. My kids get their favorite cereals and I get my favorite coffee. Best of all – I know they are getting a healthy breakfast that will keep them going until lunch time.
And mom? You can save money when shopping at Publix. Always keep your eyes peeled so you can stock up too.
How great does that sound? Yep. Like saving money to go spend it somewhere else like your favorite craft store… oh is that just me? Either way, happy shopping and happy mornings!
