Summer is over and school is back in session. It’s important to establish a good morning routine or things can break out and get hectic FAST! I’m a big stickler on waking up and doing things A-B-C but I also know there should be room to be flexible and fun.
The kids have gotten themselves dressed, fed the animals, and made sure all their school work is ready for the day. What’s left is breakfast. A time my kids talk about what dreams they had, if they have any projects due that day, what they want to do when they get home or what they would like for dinner. If they have all of their tasks complete I let them have a little fun after breakfast before I have to drive them to school. Thanks to General Mills and Skylanders, their mornings just got a whole lot cooler.
On specially marked boxes of General Mills Cereal Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Cookie Crisp, Golden Grahams, Honey Nut Cheerios and Reese’s Puffs, you can now find Skylanders Battlecast cards including one exclusive card in each box (Sonic Boom, Trigger Happy, Prism Break, or Hot Head)! There are four cards in each box; you can collect 10 cards in total from General Mills cereal boxes. Act fast because they are only on shelves of major retailers nationwide through September 2016.
This isn’t the Skylanders your kids are used to playing on their favorite game console. Nope. Skylanders Battlecast is a physical and digital card game (you don’t need the physical cards to play). Your kids can build the ultimate team and bring them to life in epic online battles against friends and foes! With over 300 cards to collect the fun never ends.
If your kids are early birds (like mine. OH MY GOSH. Someone please tell my kids that it’s okay to sleep past 6am!) they’ll have plenty of time in the morning to get a few rounds in before the hustle and bustle of school starts.
As my tween gets older, I’m becoming “that mom” who has forgotten what it’s like to be that young and apparently I’m not as cool as I thought I was. I grab a cup of coffee and we chat about our favorite Skylanders then take turns each doing a battle. I have suddenly become cool again and it’s awesome!
Simply download the iOS app (or Android) and get in the game with your kids! Make breakfast more special for you and your kids by making Skylanders Battlecast and General Mills Cereal part of your morning routine together!
We still have a game night here but now we also have game mornings. Now instead of fighting my kids to get their morning tasks done they do them quickly and before I even have to ask because they want to get in a few rounds of Skylanders Battlecast. I think it’s an awesome reward and it puts them in a good mood before school starts.
To learn more and to see how the game is played check out the video below from Mommy Teaches! She walks you through the game step-by-step so you and your kids can jump right in. It’s super easy, I promise.
