Marvel has revealed the cast list for the third Captain America movie as it begins production for Captain America: Civil War, and it’s shaping up to be more of an Avengers 2.5 if you ask me.
Captain America: Civil War picks up where Avengers: Age of Ultron left off, as Steve Rogers leads the new team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. After another international incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to enlist the services of the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers while they try to protect the world from a new and nefarious villain.
Leading man Chris Evans will be joined by… basically everyone in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. What exactly does that mean for fans is that you’ll see characters that have already been established up until Age Of Ulton, which include Scarlett Johansson (Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow), Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), Anthony Mackie (Sam Wilson/Falcon), Paul Bettany (The Vision), Don Cheadle (Jim Rhodes/War Machine) and Elizabeth Olsen (Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch).
That’s not all though. Paul Rudd is confirmed to appear, making his appearance as Scott Lang/Ant-Man, Chadwick Boseman (Black Panther), Sebastian Stan (Bucky Barnes), Cap’s former best friend and now the brainwashed Winter Soldier; Emily VanCamp (Sharon Carter), a SHIELD agent and Steve’s love interest; and Frank Grillo as Brock Rumlow, becoming the supervillain Crossbones.
Currently Captain America: Civil War is slated for a May 6, 2016 release date so I’ll keep you updated on news and more until then.
Make sure you go see Avengers: Age of Ultron in theaters now but before you go print out some fun coloring pages!
