Disclosure: I was invited on a trip to California for the world premiere of Disney PLANES. My travel and accommodations were provided by Disney. All opinions are my own unless noted otherwise. No further compensation was received.
Earlier this week I traveled to LA to attend the world premiere of Disney’s newest animated feature film, PLANES World Premiere and Tailgate Party at El Capitan Theatre. If you follow me on Twitter or Instagram then this news doesn’t come as to a surprise to you.
On Monday August 5th, the street of Hollywood Blvd was blocked off around the historic El Capitan Theatre. Crowds of fans, and paparazzi alike gathered around all sides in hopes of seeing their favorite celeb, snapping a picture and remember that day forever. The excitement and energy surrounding the red carpet premiere of Disney’s PLANES is something that is so hard to explain.
As celebrities and their families worked the
red runway carpet, invited guests like myself walked behind them so most of my pictures are of celebrities backs. As we entered the carpet we saw John Lasseter (the chief creative officer of Pixar) exiting his vehicle, Teri Hatcher with her daughter Emerson, and Hilary Duff.
The carpet was a fun experience but unless you are Teri Hatcher (voice of Dottie) security is constantly yelling for you to “keep moving down”. It was really hard to a picture of myself on the carpet, let alone a non-blurry picture of a celebrity.
At the end of the carpet is when the real fun would begin! Target presented the Landing Zone pre-party where there was carnival games, endless food, drinks, and prizes to be won.
The carnival games were a hit for young and old. There were lines at each game which included skee ball, balloon darts, flight simulators, a huge jet bouncy slide, claw machine, and so so much. I had a great time playing the games and winning some adorable PLANES toys for my girls.
One thing I told my husband before I left for this trip was, “I bet I won’t even realize I am standing next to a celebrity” and I was absolutely right. There were many times where an a celeb was standing next to me or walked past me and I had no idea. I am definitely a fan of most on the carpet so I was super nervous. I also felt like once they were in The Landing Zone is was family time so I wasn’t exactly comfortable asking for photos, unlike most bloggers. I did however get some pictures with Peyton List of Disney’s hit sitcom “Jessie”, Bella Thorne from other Disney hit sitcom “Shake It Up” and of course the oh so handsome Dane Cook (voice of Dusty Crophopper).
The celebs, the music, the food, the games, the conversation – all of this experience is something I’ll never forget. It was rather hot outside on Monday so I was happy when it was time to see the movie. We were ushered into the dimly lit theater with themed popcorn buckets, soda, and 3D glasses.
I sat 2nd row with Dog With A Blog stars Beth Littleford directly behind me and Regan Burns in front of me. Beth and Regan play husband and wife on the Disney sitcom show. I had a brief conversation with Beth before the movie started about how much we love her show and find it (especially her character) hilarious. I also told her that our favorite episode was “the parrot episode” (as I called it). She thanked me and also said that was one of her ‘favorite episodes to shoot but very stressful’.
Can’t wait to see the movie but is it right for your child? I’ll be providing a full review of the movie in just a couple of days so come back for that but for now check out more of Disney’s PLANES on Facebook.
