Electric Philips AVENT Comfort Breast Pump (and giveaway!)

Sponsoredreview

So you may be wondering why Philips sent me their AVENT Single Electric Comfort Breast Pump because I’m not pregnant or nursing a small babe, right? Well, I said yes to their offer because I know many of you our there ARE pregnant and/or nursing of course.

When Kendall was drinking my boobie milk I had a big hospital grade pump. It was bulky, loud, and no cute at all. When it was time to go out into the world I had to make sure I pumped a lot before we left and even still we couldn’t be out for long because in just a short while I would find myself extremely engorged, we’d have to stop what we were doing, and I would have to go home to pump. This only lasted 4-5 months because soon my supply plummeted and I couldn’t get it to come back :( The process to pump was definitely annoying but I did wish there was an easier way or if I could have gotten Kendall to latch it would have made things 1,000x’s better.

Well with the Philips AVENT Comfort pump I won’t have the same issues the next time around. There are so many great features on this pump that I cannot wait to get preggo and start using this right away. Like other pumps you receive a pump body, the diapgragm, and valve but also a massage cushion with warm feel (we’ll talk about that in a minute) that pops onto the pump body and a cap to cover it. The Philips AVENT Comfort Pump also comes with one 4.0oz Natural Bottle with a wide breast shaped nipple to promote natural latch similar to the breast, making it easy for your baby to combine breast and bottle feeding. The pump is compatible with any AVENT bottles so if you produce more than four ounces per breast per session you can purchase the 9oz bottles and to go town on those boobies.

For starters the Phillps AVENT Comfort pump has a unique design that lets you sit upright when pumping so your milk flows directly from your breast into the bottle. There is no need for you to lean forward to make sure all your milk ends up in the bottle, which was one of my biggest complaints when I was pumping. Sitting comfortably and being relaxed when pumping, naturally helps your milk to flow more easily.

The base unit itself is a small compact design gives you great control when pumping because it can be placed within comfortable reach. My old pump was so big I had to place it on the floor because it took up too much space on my bedside table. The other great this about the Philips AVENT Comfort pump is the extra convenience of on the go pumping since the unit will take 4 AA batteries! Now THAT would have been a life saver for an on-the-go mom like myself. Also, for transportation and storage the tube simply wraps around the base unit.

The unit has 3 speed settings and a unique gentle stimulation mode to get your milk flowing. When the unit is switched on it will automatically start in the “letdown” mode which is like a quick pulsating, from there you can choose the setting of your choice to help your milk flow most comfortable to you. I’ve made a video (seen below) so you can see the speeds in action.

Now back to the massage cushion with warm feel I mentioned before. The cushion has a soft velvety texture that gives a warm feel to the skin for comfortable, and gentle stimulation of your milk flow. No more hard plastic flanges against your breasts like on many other pumps! During pumping, it gently mimics your baby’s suckling for natural let down and clinically proven effectiveness. The soft massage cushion is designed to comfortably fit the majority of moms. Should you need it, a larger size cushion is available separately (availability may vary per country).

A great breast pump that will make pumping easier for me and many moms out there is definitely the Philips AVENT Single Electric Comfort Breast Pump. I cannot wait to use it and if you’re in the market you can read more on the pump on the AVENT Facebook page or check out Amazon to purchase the pump for yourself for just $129.90. They also make a Comfort Double Electric pump too.

I love the fact you can sit upright! Especially as I have extreme back pain and find it hard to sit up anyway! I found this to be a right put off when pumping for my first born.

I love that is has a battery option and it is more compact! I have used the older version of the phillips avent double breast pump for my first two kids. I recently had my third, and having a battery option would be awesome! There are times when I would be someplace that didn’t have access to an outlet, so pumping was more difficult. I have loved the original, but again I am excited about the battery option.

This sounds amazing especially for a mom like me that has a 3month old that doesn’t latch on and had to pump for a whole year wit my son now 2 that also didmt . I love everything about it and am anxious to try it out. Anything that makes pumping easier makes being a parent easier and that’s a win in my book.
