“First Flush Celebration” Times Square Takeover!

We’re in full swing potty training mode over here. Well, ok I could be doing better at it but for now we’re taking it slow. Potty training is by far one of the hardest parenting things I’ve had to go through and I can say that since I’ve now had to do it twice. Makenna was a late trainer I would say. She finally used the potty on a regular basis around 3 but didn’t poop on the potty till 4! Yep, 4 years old. It was a hard struggle (no pun intended) that started with constipation and apparently that scarred her for a couple years.

So now I’m onto training Kendall and being the second child it seems like she just wants to take her sweet time. Now that we’ve switched to Pull-Ups I’m hoping this will help our journey along a lot quicker.

What I really want to tell you about is this exclusive toddler-friendly event in Times Square: The First Flush Celebration Times Square Takeover. Pull-Ups is kicking off the New Year with a new high-tech tool to help the approximately 4 million moms who will start potty training this year make the process more fun and easy! The brand has launched a new and exciting app – the Pull-Ups* Big Kid App. It is a fun mobile tool that integrates imagination and reality via augmented reality technology to keep mom and child motivated throughout the potty training process.

Pull-Ups

To provide extra motivation for Moms and toddlers to start potty training and share their first flush… and every flush after…successes, Pull-Ups is launching a fun consumer call-to-action. Parents can go to Facebook.com/Pull-Ups and upload an image of their tot’s first flush moment for a chance to have their picture posted on a billboard in the middle of New York City’s Times Square, during a larger-than-life celebration on Jan. 29! How cool is that?! In addition, by uploading the photo, one lucky family will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to a world-famous Orlando destination. We already uploaded Kendall’s picture (yes even though we live here. Can you say “Staycation” lol) so hopefully I’ll see Kendall’s picture in Times Square and of course I wanna win the Disney trip!

If you’re going to be in NYC on January 29th keep this celebration in mind because it’s going to be tons of fun. With a giant potty, live performers and a spectacular light-up billboard celebration, parents and tots can experience the excitement first hand as they prepare to celebrate one of the biggest milestones in a child’s transition from baby to Big Kid™ – their First Flush!

Event details:

  1. What a good way to keep kids motivated about potty training. Thanks!

  2. We’re starting the potty training process now and it’s always fun to read about other moms going through the same journey! We had our Pull-Ups party two weeks ago and the Cars pull-ups are a HUGE hit with my son. :) Now if only we could get this potty training thing over and done with…

  4. I potty trained my 2yo months ago. Then she kept having accidents and reverted back to a diaper. I still need to re-train her. I’m not really looking forward to it.

Potty training is really challenging and requires lots of patience.. So glad my daughter was potty trained at age 2! I believe using cloth diapers helped her:-) I’m happy we don’t have to be carrying around a diaper bag anymore (and washing dirty diapers too), but my next baby is due on June, let’s see how potty training goes the second time around!

  6. What a fun event opportunity! We’re well past potty training in our home (thank goodness!) however time sure flies and it won’t be long before my nephew is ready to start.

  7. That was a tough stage for us and I’m so glad it’s over.

  8. Sounds like fun!! I’m glad I’m out of that stage!!

  9. We’re having a First Flush party for my son this week & he’s been so excited for two weeks about it!

  10. Sounds like fun, and a great contest too!

  11. I bet Times Square is going to be packed with moms.

  12. How fun and good luck with the potty training!!

  13. I’m currently potty training my youngest. Good luck!

  14. My husband and I are both teachers, so we started it for our son when we were both on summer break.

  15. Times Square! That would be cool – like the ultimate baby scrapbook photo!

My daughter purchased a potty watch online for my grandson and they liked it. You could set it for however long you wanted to let them know, time to go potty again. Pretty neat! Plus, they love wearing watches and things like that. Great reminder tool as well and soon they’ll know, that alarm means time to go

Yes, I remember how difficult it was with my son. He is now 5 and still has his issues. He doesn’t want to take the time to go to the bathroom.. He will hold it until the very last second and not always does he make it. I haven’t had a girl to compare it to, but if they are any harder to train, I give credit to all the mothers out there with girls :)

  20. The Celebration sounds like it’s going to be wild. I recently got a tip to wait for the summer to potty train because with the warmer weather, my daughter can jut stay in a t-shirt all day.

that actually makes a lot of sense. Here in Florida that’ll be like, tomorrow with our up and down hot and cold weather during the Winter months but I do like that tip, thanks!!

  21. We’re still waiting for the first flush. *sigh*

  22. LOL! Have you seen the potty with the iPad holder. LOL!

  23. Potty training is definitely challenging for kids and parents. My son was a nightmare. We were living in the country at the time of potty training him. He finally would pee, but poop no way! We would go outside to play and find him squatting out in the grass going poop!! Glad those days are over:)
