We Dined with Shamu (Review)

After a two year hiatus from the park the Dine with Shamu experience returned to SeaWorld Orlando early July. SeaWorld invited my family down to SeaWorld to check out Dine with Shamu and I am excited to tell you about our experience!

If you’ve come to SeaWorld Orlando I’m sure one of the main stops is to see the Believe show at Shamu Stadium but sometimes that just isn’t enough interaction for you and that’s why I’m glad Sea World has brought back their Dine with Shamu experience. It sounds like it would be expensive but for less than $30 a person (and kids eat FREE with an adult purchase!) your whole family can get up close and personal with these gorgeous whales.

To find the Dine with Shamu restaurant look no further than behind Shamu Stadium. You’ll be seated in a covered outdoor area which is behind glass to a massive water tank beside that. I strongly recommend you to arrive on-time or even a little early so you can get the best seats in the house. You’ll want to be seated next to the glass and pretty dead center so you can have the best view.

Of course we’re here to dine but you won’t want to leave your seats or you’ll miss some cool tricks and information so hit the delicious buffet of seasonal and sustainable items right when you get in.

The presentation starts while you’re eating and it consists of 4-5 trainers showing you tricks with the whales, talking about how to become a trainers, and some really cool facts and history behind the whales. You get an incredible glimpse into the interactions that occur between the trainers and whales and you find out what makes killer whales such unique animals.

For your $30 you’ll get not only coffee, tea, and soda but also beer and wine, all included. We were greeted with so much food such as pork, crusted in cinnamon and nutmeg served with an apple chutney with bacon, all natural grain fed black Angus strip loin, and kid friendly options like hot dogs, spaghetti with red sauce and meatballs, and many more items. Of course you’ll also get some fantastic dessert to choose from too like Key Lime Pie, Strawberry Shortcake, cookies, and more! The food was a symphony of flavors and is extremely well prepared and never-ending.

Dine with Shamu truly is Orlando’s most immersive and memorable family dining experience.

It’s a behind-the-scenes experience that will connect you to the world we share like never before and it’s only at SeaWorld Orlando. We had amazing time and we’ll definitely be going back.

Dine With Shamu costs just $29 for adults and $19 for children ages 3-9. Currently, you can receive a free child’s (ages 3-9) meal with each full-paid adult with reservations made before December 25, 2012.

Disclosure: SeaWorld provided us the Dine With Shamu experience at no cost to us. No monetary compensation was given to me. All opinions are my very own and your Diner With Shamu experience may differ. Video was from MickeyUpdates.com

Bringing a baby to Sea World and Disney even young is a great experience. At least for me it has been. There is actually a lot they can do and the look on their faces is priceless.

But age 5 is a great age too so they can really interact with everything.
