Cleaning is a chore.
I hate it but it must be done. As a stay-at-home mom I guess one would say it’s my “job” to keep the house in order but man, does it get exhausting doing the same tasks day after day, night after night. So I look for shortcuts. Not ones that involve my skipping something or sweeping dirt under the rug, but shortcuts as in finding a product that cuts my cleaning time in half.
And I have found it in the HAAN Total HD60 Steam Sweeper. The HAAN Total tackles three chores with one machine; sweeping, steaming and sanitize in one easy step!
I have a broom, I have a vacuum, I have a cordless vacuum, and I have a steamer – but why?! Why all the products when I could just have one. It just makes sense if you ask me.
Most of the house is covered in tile, some wood and some carpet so we’ve got a little bit of everything. I’ve also got 2 kids, a dog, birds, a husband, and let’s not forget my thick head of hair that sheds like crazy. Needless to say I have to pull every single cleaning machine mentioned above out every day, sometimes twice!
The HAAN Total Steam Sweeper is available online for $149.95 and comes with 2 Reusable Ultra Micro-Fiber Cleaning Pads, Carpet Glide Attachment, Floor Protector/Resting Pad, Lime and Scale Remover and Users Manual and Warranty Card. The second the box showed up at my down I was so excited to steam and sweep that I took everything out immediately. It takes about 5 minutes to put this bad boy together and then I was ready to clean.
Sweeper: The HAAN Total HD60 has a motorized brush roll that picks up debris from solid surfaces and carpet (with the carpet attachment on of course) and puts the dirt in the easy to empty dust bin. I found that it does great on smaller crumbs, or like the bird bedding that seems to magically fly out of their cage. The dog hair can sometimes be left behind but Saydie does have really fine straw-like hair and only if a lot of hair is in a huge pile. I think this is because the machine is directly against the ground with no real clearance for big things to get under. I can say that I appreciate the long electric cord so that I can almost get a lot of space clean without having to keep unplugging and re-plug to a new outlet.
Steamer: There are 15 powerful steam jets that are ready to go after just 20 seconds! I love absolutely love that to fill the Total with water you take off the reservoir tank, fill with water, screw the cap back on and pop it back on the back of the machine! No measuring cups, no spilling water everything – nothing!
The Micro-Fiber pads impressed me (as much as a cleaning pad can, I suppose) because of how strong and durable they are. They get placed onto the head of the machine and once the machine is ready you can start sanitizing. Unlike the Shark steamer you don’t have to kill your arms by pumping the handle to produce steam. The HAAN Total HD60 gives out steam on a constant basis. You can see the steam “streaks” on the floors and there is no water puddles or drops on the floor anywhere. Little ones running around? Not a problem since the steam literally disappears within seconds, leaving only fresh and clean floors! The steam mop function kills 99.9% of household germs, bacteria and dust mites without the use of any chemicals…just extremely hot steam.
Once you are done, place the machine back on the resting pad for about 5 minutes (to cool down) and then store your unit standing up (since yes, it is self standing!) or using the handy dandy hook that is attached to the back of the unit. The Micro-Fiber pad can be washed by hand and re-use them over and over again! You can wash the pads in the washing machine but that will wear them down quicker so it’s not advised.
Now I must say that although this unit does extremely well on carpet it does not completely cut out the use of a full-size vacuum. I still use my regular vacuum once a week but the HAAN Total does a great job keeping my cleaning down and since it’s so quiet I can use it when Kendall is napping during the day. Total plus right there.
But as you can see, using this one unit has cut my cleaning time in half since the only time I have to stop is to put the carpet glide attachment on. And 2. It (would have) saved me money. That is, if I didn’t already own the other Shark products.

Wow, so multipurpose! Thanks for the review.
We just moved to a house with BLACK wood floors. sigh. Thanks so much for your review; I’m thrilled it does more than one kind of surface.
I love how it work on multiple surfaces, just what I need.
Great review. I have always wanted a steamer.
I didn’t even know there was such a thing as a device which works on multiple flooring surfaces. This is SUPER cool!
I know right. It’s extremely helpful.
Great review!
That’s awesome that this works on carpet too! 80% of my house is tile so having a hard surface floor cleaner is a must but how great to not need a separate device for carpets/rugs too!
I think it’s pretty neat it does multiple flooring surfaces.
