The First Years Pathway B570 – Review and Giveaway

When I’m shopping for baby gear, toys, ect for myself or friends, the first thing on my mind is safety. I’ve used and bought products from The First Years in the past and present. I love The First Years because they are dedicated to provide families a complete line of feeding, care, travel, nursery, and play products can help everyone safe and happy.

One thing I cannot stress to everyone is the importance of car seat safety. My almost 8 year old still sits in a car seat and will for as long as I can convince her it’s a good idea. But yet when she goes to her grandma and papa’s house she doesn’t use a booster. I have yet to own a car seat from The First Years so when they asked me to review the Compass Pathway B570 Booster Seat I happily said yes.

The First Years recently announced that they have been recognized by the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety with a ‘Best Bet’ rating for its own Compass Pathway B570!

Features/Benefits:

  • Color-coded shoulder belt guide for better fit
  • Color-coded lap belt positioning for a better fit
  • Latch attachments for secure installation when not in use
  • Deep contoured headrest
  • Two removable cupholders
  • Self-adjusting seat back
  • Adjustable to six positions
  • Taller belt path to accommodate larger children
  • Foldable, easy and compact
  • Built-in carry handle
  • Side-impact tested to international standards
  • For use with children 30-100 lbs. (3-10 years old)
  • Easy off pads
One of my biggest worry with a booster is wondering if the seat belt is in the correct position. This new booster from The First Years allows you the flexibility to adjust the shoulder belt path up to 1.5″ so your child will be comfortable and secure each and every time. And the lap belt positioning has been adjusted for a more comfortable and better fit.
To adjust where the seat belt lays on your child’s shoulder you simply push the yellow button (right picture) and move the belt path to position 1, 2, or 3 so that the seat belt is centered on the child’s shoulder. It’s that easy!
Adjusting the back of the seat to 1 of 6 different height positions is just as simple. Location the two yellow handles on the back and by pushing in them at the same time you can pull up or push down to get it perfectly positioned for your child.
Side impact safety is not a concern with the The First Years Compass Pathway B570. The deep contoured headrest is not only very comfortable, but more importantly, has been developed to control a child’s head in the event of a crash. As you can see the sides are very thick and side impact testing is standard for all of The First Years’ seats, tested to Australian standards which are the most stringent standards for side-impact testing.

There are so many things I love about the Compass Pathway Booster Car Seat which make it very convenient for parents. This booster has two cup holders that can be folded in or pulled out but what I love the most is that the cup holders are removable for easy cleaning!

Also, the seat has a 3 position self adjusting back that means that there are no issues with installing it in any back seat. I also like the fact that when the seat is not in use, the LATCH system keep it secure so if there is a car accident the seat won’t go flying through the car.

Makenna loves the two arm rests that she has. I love that they can be folded up for easy entry into the vehicle.

On the back of the seat you’ll find the patented one-hand fold, making storage and moving from car to car easy and stress-free! I don’t know why it says “Life To Fold” though because I actually had to push the top circular area in to and then push the bottom of the seat upwards. But still, it was a breeze to fold and I love how compact it becomes which is great for storing it at my parent’s house when it’s not in use.

So far we are extremely happy with the Compass Pathway B570 Booster Car Seat! We love how safe and secure it is and that it’s something that will comfortably grow with her for years to come and that Kendall can even use since the expiration date is clearly marked on the bottom of the seat – for us that means 7 years of use!

The quality is outstanding and I know it’s something that will last us a long time. I would recommend checking it out if you’re in need of a good quality booster car seat for a child in your life.
