Barilla Microwaveable Meals + Giveaway

I remember, before my days of being a stay-at-home mom I would spend so much money on eating lunch every single day when I was at work. Back then I only had three mouths to fill so it wasn’t as bad but still, money is money and with the hubby spending lunch money every day it became a little crazy on the wallet.

While I stay at home now, my husband still goes to work and still spends so much money on lunch when we don’t have left-over dinner for him to bring to work. It doesn’t take me long to be convinced if I should try a microwavable meal but my husband on the other hand hates them. He prefers his Italian mom’s red sauce and nothing else will ever come close.

Well, mommy isn’t here to make him sauce everyday so I had to convince him that taking the NEW! Barilla Microwavable Meals for his lunches at work.

There are five varieties:

• Mezze Penne with Tomato & Basil Sauce
• Mezze Penne with Traditional Marinara Sauce
• Mezze Penne with Spicy Marinara Sauce
• Whole Grain Fusilli with Vegetable Marinara Sauce
• Whole Grain Mezze Penne with Tomato & Basil Sauce

Ready in 60 seconds. 100% natural. No preservatives.

Thanks to hubby having access to a microwave at work all he has to do is peel back the film to the dotted line, microwave-ready tray and cook for 60 seconds. He told me he absolutely loved the Mezze Penne with Spicy Marinara Sauce so I had to try one of the meals for myself. I like my sauces simple so I chose Mezze Penne with Tomato & Basil Sauce.

I didn’t think 60 seconds would cook the meal so perfectly but it really did. I didn’t feel any cold spots in the pasta or sauce. I also like that the sauce is in a separate container so I can pour as little or as much on the pasta as I wish.

Just look at those chunks of tomato! At just 320 calories, 4.5 grams of fat and 11 grams of protein it’s great for me. I have been known to be very picky when it comes to food and even though I eat my fair share of quick and easy meals I still was skeptical with the new Barilla Microwavable Meals.

I have good news though.

It was good. It was really good. So good that my two year old almost ate all of it even though I asked her moments before if she wanted something to eat. I got a firm “no” from her but yet she tasted my pasta and wanted it all for herself.

You can learn more about all the tasty meal choices on the Barilla website so go and do that. I’ll wait. Oh and on that website you will also be able to download a coupon to try Barilla Microwaveable Meals for yourself! But guess what!
