Florida is the dream destination for holidaying in the United States, especially among residents of the northern states of the country. However, it is not just sunshine and beaches that this state has to offer, and that is why people are now considering it a viable option to move permanently to Florida. With the economy now stabilizing, and with the easy availability of reasonably priced property in Florida, this move can be a definite pay off. Like all states, Florida does have a few downsides to it, but on the whole the pros definitely outweigh the cons.
In Florida, the people, the geography, the lifestyle and the weather all contribute to make it a great place to live. With beaches always within a 45-minute range and ideal weather almost throughout the year, there is no need to dread long dreary winters. In fact it’s sunshine, fun and frolic for most of the year.
Florida for families
Inexpensive housing is an advantage that can be enjoyed right now. Moving into a property in Florida that is well constructed, close to the ocean and in a beautiful location is not that much out of budget any longer. Most people consider retiring to Florida, however, now they can make the move immediately because of the cheaper house prices. If one doesn’t want to buy a house, the rents are also relatively cheap so renting a property in Florida is a real option. For families with young children or elderly members, there are plenty of local services available to suit their needs.
For families with students in school this is a great place to move to. There are some good public as well as private schools in Florida. For those families that have sent their children to private boarding schools elsewhere, this is still a good option as homeowners will save money by living in Florida that will help to pay for their kids’ education. With the specialized programs that Florida’s universities have for students that perform well, higher education is of a high quality in the state.
Working in Florida
With the economy steadily stabilizing in Florida, there are more and more job avenues opening up around the state. Given that there are still areas that are not commercially/industrially developed, it is advisable that research on the job market is done before a move to Florida is considered. Also, Florida has relatively low income tax rates. Even real estate taxes are regulated and compared to the tax rates in other states in the United States; most Florida residents have an easy time in that regard
With the number of activities that one can undertake in this sunshine state; like fishing, surfing, shopping, for example, residents are always on holiday and should never be bored. It is the ideal location for young couples, families and even as a retirement destination. Now is the best time, if ever, to consider buying that property in Florida that most people merely dream of.

i love Florida!!
I have never been there, but would like to visit
Helpful information. My Grandparents live in Florida and we love to visit, every time I go there, I think…”I could live here!”
I love the photo of the lighthouse.
I love living in Florida, when I moved away from Florida to arkansas for a bit I informed the guy I was dating (who is now my husband LOL) that I would be moving back to Florida one day and if he didn’t want to live there it was best not to waste his time LOL. Obviously we ended up back in my home state.
I love Florida but don’t think I could ever live there because of fear of hurricanes. I already live in Texas and have to worry about that enough.
LOVE fl and don’t plan on leaving any time soon
I lived in the panhandle for three years. Sure do miss the beach!
Due to having family in the area, I’ve been to Florida numerous times as a child and always enjoyed myself. I have also visited as an adult, but only overnight prior to boarding a cruise ship!
I’d LOVE to move there but for now I at LEAST want to visit! I haven’t been there since I was 6- you could say it’s been awhile.
It sure is a great place to visit!!
I love Florida!
The cost of living in a location is SO important. Something for all families to keep in mind.
Sounds great, I wish we were in warmer climate.
I loved visiting a couple years ago – can’t wait to get back for a Disney World vacation!
I went to Florida on a blogger trip in April and now want to go back with my family.
I absolutely love Florida I used to go every year to visit my grandparents miss it so!
I love Florida! Wish we could move there!
I have lived in Florida my whole life. I like that the state has a lot for families to do, but have never been able to get used to the heat.
I have been here for almost 8 years and I don’t think I’ll ever get use to the heat either :/
I’ve never been to Florida! I think I’d love living near the ocean, but I’m not so sure I’d like the humidity…
We have thought many times of moving down there, still are considering it if I can find enough land
Oh I’m sure you can. I don’t know what kind of land you are looking for but it just depends on where you live. Of course live in the heart of Orlando and you can touch your neighbor’s house from your window, lol. But go out into Kissimmee or St. Cloud (if you are looking to stay by Central Florida) and you can get land. My parents live in 3 acres.
It has been ages since I have traveled to Florida, but I love visiting there. However, I don’t really think I could live there, though.
I would love to live in Florida! I live near buffalo Ny and I would love to escape the snow and cold!
I completely agree! I love living in Florida!
