Tria Blue Light – The Results

A little over a month ago I told you I was going to be testing out the Tria Blue Light in hopes of achieving a clear complexion and I’m excited to tell you my results.

Using the Tria Blue Light was super easy and quick. It just takes 5 minutes out of your day and you’re done but what exactly is blue light treatment?

Dermatologists have used blue light in their offices since 2002 to clear acne breakouts quickly and effectively by eliminating the bacteria that cause them. Blue light treatment is a non-UV light therapy, which is gentle on skin and does not cause long-term harmful health effects. Now the TRIA Skin Perfecting Blue Light brings this incredible dermatologist treatment home to you.

I was nervous to use the Tria Blue Light because I have extremely sensitive skin. I figured it would either dry my skin out or cause me to break out in pimples even more. My skin reacted great to the blue light treatment which is more than I could have asked for. No drying out, more extra breakouts, just perfectly clear skin.

My one complaint with the Tria Blue Light is that the battery seems to die rather quickly, especially if you forget to use it for a couple of days (which I did not do… more than once.. maybe). I would use the light and still see a full battery, than a couple of days later I would go to use it again and it was completely dead and wouldn’t turn on. Now it’s to the point that even the next day it’s dead so it won’t even stay charged for 1 day.

The light itself does get a little warm but not burning or bothersome by any means. I actually like the bit of heat that comes from it since I’m typically cold all the time.

My Results?:

  • I have seen signs of a clearer complexion.
  • My skin did not dry out.
  • When I forget to use it for a day I do notice that pimples pop back up right away so I do feel that the Tria Blue keeps my breakouts at bay.

I’ll continue to use the Tria Blue Light and perhaps even buy a refill for it once all my sessions are gone. I just wish the battery would last because that’s the most irritating thing about the product.

Disclosure: I wrote this review while participating in a campaign by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Tria and received a Tria Skin Perfecting Blue Light product sample to facilitate my review.

  1. I tried this too and expected much different results. It worked okay but I don’t like that you have to constantly buy cartridges..

I’ve never heard of this but would be willing to give one a try for teen and myself, who still has breakouts at age 36.

  8. I need to try it. Even at my age, I still have breakouts. :/

  9. That’s interesting. As the mother of a teenager, I’ve always got my eyes open for things that can help him. The trick with teenagers though is that they’d have to use it continuously and not loose interest after day 4.
