Sweet Independence with Hershey’s Simple Pleasures

This summer I am declaring Sweet Independence from stress. I want my kids to have an enjoyable summer and I am not going to worry about dishes in the sink or that their beds are not made first thing in the morning.

What I’m also going to do is enjoy some chocolate even though it’s extremely hot outside. I am going to give in to my cravings and have some new Hershey’s Simple Pleasures chocolates!

Hershey’s Simple Pleasures chocolates have 30 percent less fat than the average leading milk chocolates. Come to mama! In Dark Chocolate with Chocolate Crème, Milk Chocolate with Vanilla Crème (our favorite), and Milk Chocolate with Chocolate Crème, each piece has just 30 calories. An entire 6-piece serving has 180 calories, 8g fat, 10 – 30mg sodium, 28 – 29g carbs.

Now I don’t know about you but I could probably eat more than just 6 but don’t tell anyone. Chocolate is my weakness but usually I don’t like creme filled chocolate.

I was hesitant because I am picky and very picky about chocolate. I hear something has less sugar, less calories, or less fat I’m instantly turned off and just know it’s going to be gross. Well I am here to tell you that you can’t even taste a difference! I was very surprised that it tasted like the Hershey’s chocolate we know and love. I didn’t tell my kids (like they’d know what 30% fat means anyway) or my husband about the nutrition facts and they enjoyed them.

The Milk Chocolate with Vanilla Crème was a bit runnier than the Chocolate Crème and Dark Chocolate Crème. Typically the texture of the thinner Crème would turn turn me off to a chocolate but I have to say that the Milk Chocolate with Vanilla Crème was both mine and Makenna’s favorite. My husband preferred the Milk Chocolate with Chocolate Crème.

I encourage you to go sign the Declaration of “Sweet Independence,” prompting you to enjoy life’s simple pleasures and live a balanced lifestyle. You could win some sweet prizes like a $100 gift card or Hershey’s Simple Pleasures chocolates. You can do so on the Hershey’s Simple Pleasures Facebook page right now!
