This past weekend was the inaugural Craft Beer Festival and Burger Bash hosted on property of the PGA National Resort & Spa in sunny Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
At the event you were given a 2 oz cup so you could sample different types of beer, vendors, live music, and the all important 2012 King Of All Burgers competition. Culinary students and local celebrity chefs made their best slider type burgers for everyone to taste. Everyone was given one voting ticket and when we found the best burger we voted for them!
There were so many incredible burgers with flavors not found on your typical every day burger. It was hard to choose but once I found 3 Forks I knew I had to vote for them! They brought a chef’s special burger that isn’t even found on their menu (hint hint: put it on the menu!!) – Black Angus beef, pulled pork, slaw, and sweet BBQ sauce on a soft bun! It was seriously delicious. I literally had 3 of these puppies and if I didn’t eat any other burger I could have eaten more, yes, it was that good. 3 Forks didn’t end up winning KING OF ALL BURGERS but they did win “Most Innovative Burger” so congrats to them! So if you’re ever in Palm Beach Gardens (Austin, Dallas, Chicago, Houston, Jacksonville, or Hallandale Beach) check out 3 Forks!

Another great sandwich, which was Teresa’s favorite was from Capital Grille. I’m not a huge sea food fan and by the time we got to this booth I was stuff so I didn’t even try it but I heard great things about this burger from other people.

The beer sampling was also a fun part of the event and I know my husband would have loved tasting them all. If you are a beer lover I would definitely keep your eye out for the Craft Beer Festival and Burger Bash next year.
I heard through the grapevine that the PGA National Resort & Spa hope to make this event an annual affair and they want to keep it around Father’s Day because of course beer and burgers (and golf) are what dad’s love!
We had a great time and I will definitely be returning if it is back next year.

How awesome would this event be for a couples date? My husband and I love burgers and beer, so this sounds like a dream come true!

Burgers and beer – my favorite! I’ve never heard of 3 Forks before but am stoked to try it out since they have one in Austin!
There are soo many locations in Texas! You must go check them out sometime.
